“When U.S. President Donald Trump vowed to impose tariffs on the European Union’s goods earlier this month, the bloc’s response was clear: The EU would respond “firmly.” But Italy’s premier, Giorgia Meloni, chose a more conciliatory stance. “A clash is in nobody’s interest.
